The Production Process
Our Know-How
|
 |
We are the only makers of « Burning Sticks»
in Franc and most likely in the whole Western world. Most producers
simply dip their sticks, imported from Asia, in perfumes of various
qualities.
Many are the importers!
Drying the sticks, ultimate step of the process is really is a delicate
operation since the temperature and level of humidity must be constant
and constantly monitored during that phase.
The reason why we harvest, crush, mix the raw natural materials and
why we make the sticks completely ourselves, is that we want to continue
the lineage of the antique tradition of excellence. That way you can
enjoy a safe and high-quality product.

Once dried naturally, we grind the plants. We need to obtain a fine powder
so that the stick holds well, but not too fine so that aromatic capsules
of the plants (which contain the aromatic principles) are not destroyed.
Japanese Incenses for instance are made from extremely fine powder, which
is why they need to add extra perfume to compensate for the aromatic loss
during the grinding process.
|
|
Once the
powder is ready, we mix all the ingredients together water so as to
obtain a paste, easy to work.
|
 |
|
For Citronella, Sandalwood
and Ylang, we use the
essential oils obtained by distillation of those
plants.

|
We make our sticks pretty much in the same way as noodles are made!
After having used various types of machine-tools, (it is now 20
years since the founder of the company made his first «Burning
Stick»). We now use a press working with a pressure of 70
tons.
