Light one end of the stick, once there is a small flame, gently blow it, and enjoy the peculiar smoke rising in the air.
Put the stick in a bowl filled with sand or salt in order to keep it straight.
Be careful where you put the bowl with the incense
(mind nearby objects or flamable surfaces).
